          PROTON-CHANNEL AMPLITUDES FOR ISOLATED RESONANCES COMBINENED
          WITH OUR HIGH RESOLUTION SYSTEM, THIS NEW TECHNIQUE MAKES
          POSSIBLE NEW TYPES OF STUDIES OF ASPECTS OF LINE-BROADENING
         (E.G.,FRAGMENTED ANALOGUE STATES) AND OF STATISTICAL PROPERTIES
          OF COMPOUND NUCLEAR STATES. A FRAGMENTED ANALOGUE STATE IN
          45SC PROVIDES AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF ANALOGUE FINE STRUCTURE
          IN THREE CHANNELS, WITH THE ROBSON ASYMMETRY CLEARLY
          DEMONSTRATED FOR A NON-ELASTIC CHANNEL. THE CORRELATION
          BETWEEN AMPLITUDES (RATHER THAN WIDTHS) IN DIFFERENT CHANNELS
          IS PRESENTED. THESE NEW EXPERIMENTAL DATA MAY BE VIEWED AS AN
          'OFF-DIAGONAL STRENGTH FUNCTION'. THE ANALOGUE RESULTLS FOR
          THE TOW INELASTIC CHANNELS (DIAGONAL STRENGTH FUNCTIONS) ARE
          USED TO PREDICT THE OFF-DIAGONAL STRENGTH FUNCTION AND THE
          PREDICTIONS ARE COMPARED WITH THE THEORY OF ANALOGUE STATE
          BROADENING./;
