 178Hf target of thikness 260 ug/cm2 was deposited on a
           30 ug/cm2 carbon backing.                              
 (MWPC) Fission fragments were detected using two
           large-area (16 cm X 11 cm) position-sensitive          
           multiwire proportional counters (MWPCs), mounted on    
           opposite arms of the scattering chamber. The forward   
           and backward detectors were placed at distances of     
           38 cm and 33 cn from the target, at angles of 45 degree
           and -115 degree with respect to the beam axis,         
           respectively                                           
           (SIBAR) Two Si surface barrier detectors were kept at  
           +/-10 degree with respect to the beam direction.
