Data were taken on samples of 240Pu, 1056400100026 239Pu, and 238U. The efficiency for detecting a fission1056400100027 event by counting fission neutrons was about 5.0% per 1056400100028 detector. Pulse-shape discrimination (PSD) of the 1056400100029 type developed by Forte was used on the signals from 1056400100030 each detector. The neutron TOF spectrum contained a 1056400100031 gamma-ray background caused by gamma rays that were 1056400100032 mistagged as neutrons in the PSD circuit. This 1056400100033 background was removed from the data by subtracting 1056400100034 from the neutron TOF spectrum a fraction K of the 1056400100035 corresponding gamma-ray TOF spectrum. K was 1056400100036 determined from the ratios of resonance areas in the 1056400100037 gamma-ray TOF spectrum to the corresponding areas in 1056400100038 the neutron TOF spectrum for 20 capture resonances in 1056400100039 238U (10 to 500 eV) and for 6 assumed capture-only 1056400100040 resonances in 240Pu (40 to 140 eV). To normalize 1056400100041 detector efficiency authors used partial half-life 1056400100042 for 240Pu(SF) of 1.4xE11 yrs. 1056400100043 CORRECTION Data corrected for system dead-time, detector 1056400100044 efficiency, flux monitor efficiency.
