The 1434100100020 natural Ar gas pressure was maintained at about 2.75 1434100100021 atm. 1434100100022 DETECTOR (HPGE) Single coaxial detector of the GErmanium Array 1434100100023 for Neutron Induced Excitations (GEANIE) with the 1434100100024 best energy resolution, peak-to-background ratio, and 1434100100025 timing was used for gamma ray detection. Detector was 1434100100026 placed at theta= 77.1 deg relative to the beam axis. 1434100100027 GEANIE was located 20.34 m from the spallation target 1434100100028 at the Weapons Neutron Research facility 60R flight 1434100100029 path. 1434100100030 METHOD (TOF) Incident neutron energy was determined using 1434100100031 time-of-flight technique. Sharp gamma flash from each 1434100100032 proton pulse at the spallation target was used as 1434100100033 reference t=0 time. 1434100100034 INC-SOURCE (SPALL) Pulsed neutron beam was produced via 1434100100035 spallation on a natural W target by an 800-MeV proton 1434100100036 linear accelerator beam. The average proton beam 1434100100037 current at the spallation target was about 1 - 2 mu-A. 1434100100038 The neutron beam structure contained 625 mu-s long 1434100100039 'macropulses' driven by two of every three such 1434100100040 macropulses from the accelerator for an average rate 1434100100041 of 40/s. Each macropulse consisted of 'micropulses' 1434100100042 spaced every 1.8 mu-s, each <1 ns long. The pulsed 1434100100043 beam allowed incident neutron energies to be 1434100100044 determined using the time-of-flight technique. 1434100100045 CORRECTION Correction for non-isotropic angular distribution was 1434100100046 made. The AVALANCHE code was used to calculate the 1434100100047 angular distribution for all of the measured 1434100100048 transitions. The angular distribution correction 1434100100049 factor was determined by comparing the calculated 1434100100050 angular distribution at a particular angle to an 1434100100051 isotropic assumption.
