The overall dimensions of NaI(Tl) detector 1434300100017 were 30.5 cm diameter and 30.5 cm length with an 1434300100018 8.9-cm diameter through hole along detector axis. Each 1434300100019 segment is hermetically sealed in an aluminum can and 1434300100020 is connected to a photomultiplier tube. The neutron 1434300100021 beam was collimated to a diameter of 4.76 cm. Neutrons 1434300100022 that scatter from the sample are absorbed by a 1.0-cm- 1434300100023 thick hollow cylindrical liner fabricated of 99.4 wt% 1434300100024 10B carbide ceramic to reduce the number of scattered 1434300100025 neutrons reaching the detector. 1434300100026 METHOD (TOF) Neutron energy was determined by time of flight 1434300100027 method.
