The 1437700100014 total mass of 238U in the target was about 25mg. 1437700100015 DETECTOR (HPGE) Array of HPGE detectors GEANIE was comprised 1437700100016 of 26 high-resolution germanium (Ge) gamma-ray 1437700100017 detectors, twenty of which were equipped with bismuth 1437700100018 germanate background suppression shields. Eleven of 1437700100019 the shielded Ge detectors were planar detectors 1437700100020 dedicated to low-energy photon spectroscopy, 1437700100021 typically, from 10 keV up to 300 keV 1437700100022 (PHVC) Fission material 238U was deposited onto solar 1437700100023 cell forming independent detector able to detect one 1437700100024 of the fission fragments with an efficiency higher 1437700100025 than 80%. 1437700100026 INC-SOURCE (SPALL) The neutrons were produced through spallation 1437700100027 induced by 800 MeV protons emitted in sub-nanosecond 1437700100028 pulses every 1.8 mu-s impinging on a tungsten target. 1437700100029 The experiment was installed on the 60deg right flight 1437700100030 path and located 20.34 m away from the spallation 1437700100031 target. 1437700100032 METHOD (TOF) Incident neutron energy was determined by neutron1437700100033 time of flight. 1437700100034 (COINC) Coincidence between fission fragments and 1437700100035 gamma ray detector was required 1437700100036 ANALYSIS Prompt K X-ray emission yields in the fission induced 1437700100037 by neutrons on 238U were measured. From the spectra of 1437700100038 K X-rays yields of individual fission products were 1437700100039 determined for different incident neutron energies 1437700100040 ERR-ANALYS (ERR-1) uncertainty of the fit of X-ray spectra 1437700100041 (ERR-2) uncertainty of fit added quadratically with 1437700100042 uncertainty corresponding to 50% relative 1437700100043 uncertainty associated with K(Z) as taken from 1437700100044 Reisdorff et al. (see REL-REF).
