Scintillator was in a 1443900100013 glass cylinder of 4.2 cm in diameter and 6.4 cm high. 1443900100014 DETECTOR (SCIN) Six pairs of NE213 liquid scintillation 1443900100015 detectors surrounded the central deuterated active 1443900100016 target detector. Side detectors scintillator diameter 1443900100017 was 12.7cm and thickness of either 5.1 or 6.1 cm. 1443900100018 METHOD (COINC,TOF,PSD) For each elastic scattering event a 1443900100019 coincidence between central detector and side 1443900100020 detector was required. Analysing power was determined 1443900100021 from the asymmetry between the left and right 1443900100022 detectors. In order to cancel instrumental asymmetries,1443900100023 the ion source flipped the deuteron spin orientation 1443900100024 between up and down at a rate of 10 Hz. 1443900100025 INC-SOURCE (POLNS,D-D) Polarized neutrons were produced via the 1443900100026 D(d,n)3He source reaction at 0deg.
