This nearly 4PI detector was used to 1446700100022 measure the total gamma-ray energy coming from the 1446700100023 neutron capture on the target located at its center. 1446700100024 Target was placed in a vacuum beam tube surrounded by 1446700100025 a 6 cm thick 6LiH neutron-scattering shield. 1446700100026 METHOD (TOF) Time of flight method was used to determine 1446700100027 incident neutron energy 1446700100028 MONITOR (29-CU-63(N,G)29-CU-64,,SIG,,MXW) Activation cross 1446700100029 section measured in this work at European Commission 1446700100030 Joint Research Centre in Geel was used as monitor 1446700100031 INC-SOURCE (SPALL) 800 MeV proton beam was compressed using the 1446700100032 proton storage ring to a 250 ns pulse. A 100 mu-A 1446700100033 beam is delivered at a rate of 20 Hz onto the 1446700100034 tungsten spallation target.
