This fission 1447700100016 chamber was used to compare the spectrum obtained 1447700100017 with the fission chamber signal to that from the 1447700100018 gamma tagging method and was shown that both spectra 1447700100019 show good agreement validating the gamma tagging method1447700100020 (BAF2) Four BaF2 gamma detectors were used to detect 1447700100021 gamma rays. BaF2 gamma detectors are hexagonal prisms 1447700100022 measuring 5 inches long and 2 inches across. The face 1447700100023 of each detector was located 10 cm from the center of 1447700100024 the fission sample in a square configuration with the 1447700100025 detector centers located 10 inches apart. 1447700100026 (SCIN) Two EJ-301 liquid scintillation detectors were 1447700100027 used to detect neutrons. They were 3-inch thick by 1447700100028 5-inch diameter and were placed 50 cm away from the 1447700100029 center of the fission sample. This detector was used 1447700100030 to measure the high energy portion of the PFNS, from 1447700100031 0.5 to 7 MeV. 1447700100032 (SCIN) The EJ-204 detector was a 0.5-inch thick by 5- 1447700100033 inch diameter detector and was located 48 cm away 1447700100034 from the center of the fission sample. This detector 1447700100035 was used to measure the low energy portion of the 1447700100036 prompt fission neutron spectrum, from 50 keV to 2 MeV. 1447700100037 METHOD (TOF) Neutron energy spectra were measured by time-of- 1447700100038 flight using gamma ray tagging with BaF2 start 1447700100039 detectors. Coincidence of two out of four BaF2 1447700100040 detectors was required with a timing window of 3 ns 1447700100041 between the events. 1447700100042 (PSD) Pulse shape discrimination was used to reduce 1447700100043 gamma ray background in neutron detectors 1447700100044 ERR-ANALYS (DATA-ERR) Total uncertainty obtained by adding 1447700100045 uncertainties in 1447700100046 - detector efficiences 1447700100047 - background contribution 1447700100048 in quadrature 1447700100049 HISTORY (20170927C) Compiled by S.H. 1447700100050 ENDBIB 48 0 1447700100051 NOCOMMON 0 0 1447700100052 ENDSUBENT 51 0 1447700199999 SUBENT 14477002 20170927 14381447700200001 BIB 4 12 1447700200002 REACTION (98-CF-252(0,F),,NU/DE,,REL) 1447700200003 STATUS (TABLE) Data taken from tab.2 of the reference 1447700200004 (COREL,14477003) Low energy portion detected by EJ-204 1447700200005 detector 1447700200006 DETECTOR (SCIN) Two EJ-301 liquid scintillation detectors were 1447700200007 used to detect neutrons.
