This 2211500100017 cold moderator resulted in an increase of about a fac-2211500100018 tor 5 in the production of neutrons below 20 milli-eV.2211500100019 The neutron beam was collimated to 5 cm diameter by 2211500100020 borated wax and lead collimators. 2211500100021 METHOD (TOF) Time-of-flight techniques with a flight path of 2211500100022 8.68 m was used to determine the neutron energies. The2211500100023 neutron flux was determined by replacing the sample 2211500100024 with a sintered B4C disk of 0.06 cm thickness and 8 cm2211500100025 diameter enriched to 93% in 10-B. The 478 keV gamma- 2211500100026 rays were detected with the same C6D6 scintillators. 2211500100027 DETECTOR (SCIN) The samples were viewed by four C6D6 liquid 2211500100028 scintillators of 10.2 cm diameter and 7.6 cm height, 2211500100029 housed in a large shielding with walls made of 14 cm 2211500100030 thick lead and 25 cm thick borated wax.
