For long lived fission products, 3302600100017 electrodeposited targets of 237Np (~150 mu-g), 3302600100018 241Am (~ 100 mu-g) and 243Am (~90 mu-g) were 3302600100019 covered with 25 mu-m thick aluminand sealed in 3302600100020 alkathene bags. 3302600100021 METHOD (REC,RCHEM,GSPEC) Irradiated solution or the 3302600100022 aluminum catcher foils were used for direct gamma 3302600100023 ray spectrometric assay of fission products or for 3302600100024 the radiochemical separation of tellurium, iodine 3302600100025 and cesium. On the other hand Lexan catcher foils were 3302600100026 washed with dilute nitric acid followed by distilled 3302600100027 water and used for direct gamma ray spectrometric 3302600100028 assay. The washing were carried out to avoid the 3302600100029 possible contamination of the activation product 3302600100030 238-Np* from the reaction 237-Np(n,alpha) and alpha 3302600100031 contamination of the actinide targets. Particularly 3302600100032 in the case of 243-Am, washing needed in avoiding 3302600100033 the constant gamma ray back ground of the daughter 3302600100034 239-Np, which is in equilibrium with 243-Am. 3302600100035 In the direct counting, the Lexan catcher instead of 3302600100036 aluminum catcher is preferred to avoid gamma ray 3302600100037 activities of the activation product 24Na from 3302600100038 27Al(n,alpha) reaction. The aluminum or Lexan catcher 3302600100039 or the radiochemically separated sample solutions were 3302600100040 counted on a 120 cm*3 HPGe detector. 3302600100041 DETECTOR (HPGE) The aluminum or Lexan catcher or the 3302600100042 radiochemically separated sample solutions were 3302600100043 counted on a 120 cm*3 HPGe detector coupled to a PC 3302600100044 based 4 K channel analyzer to determine the gamma- 3302600100045 ray activities of various fission products. The 3302600100046 resolution of the detector system was 1.8 keV at 3302600100047 1332.0 keV. The dead time was always kept less than 3302600100048 10% by maintaining appropriate distance between 3302600100049 sample and detector to avoid pile up effect. 3302600100050 ANALYSIS (AREA) The photo peak of the gamma lines of the 3302600100051 fission products were calculated from their total 3302600100052 peak area by the standard program provided in the PC 3302600100053 card. 3302600100054 From the photo peak areas, the cumulative yields of 3302600100055 fission products relative to some internal fission 3302600100056 product monitors were determined using decay the 3302600100057 equations.On the other hand the independent yields [IY]3302600100058 were determined using standard decay-growth equations 3302600100059 after correcting for the precursor contribution. 3302600100060 RESULT (FRCUM) 3302600100061 ERR-ANALYS (DATA-ERR)The quoted uncertainty on the independent 3302600100062 isomeric yield ratios include the errors due to: 3302600100063 * counting statistics, 3302600100064 * absolute abundance of the gamma lines, 3302600100065 * detector efficiencies, 3302600100066 * fission yields of the precursor 3302600100067 and the least square analysis. 3302600100068 DECAY-DATA The gamma lines and the nuclear spectroscopic data 3302600100069 of different nuclides were taken from: 3302600100070 * E.
