C175400100023 (CEREN) Plexiglas Cherenkov counters with thickness C175400100024 of 2.5 cm were placed behind fourth plastic C175400100025 scintillator in 6 highest momentum channels to aid C175400100026 in pion-proton discrimination. Additional methane C175400100027 gas Cherenkov counter was placed in beam between C175400100028 first and second plastic to discriminate against C175400100029 electrons in primary beam.
