C181500100012 SAMPLE Methane (CH4) gas in the scattering chamber was used C181500100013 as safe substitute for hydrogen sample. Gas pressure C181500100014 was changed for different experimental runs between C181500100015 930 mbar (low pressure) and 1040 mbar (high pressure) C181500100016 DETECTOR (SCIN) Plastic BC-400 scintillator foil at the C181500100017 entrance of scattering chamber was used to monitor the C181500100018 beam, identify the contaminant 10C ions and to start C181500100019 the time-of-flight system. C181500100020 (IOCH) Ionization chamber at the entrance of C181500100021 scattering chamber was used for additional C181500100022 identification of 13-O ions. C181500100023 (TELES,IOCH,SI) Telescope consisting of windowless C181500100024 ionization chamber and a pair of quadrant Si C181500100025 telescopes, each consisting of four Si detectors C181500100026 with dimensions of 12.5 x 12.5 x 1 mm3 followed by a C181500100027 scintillation veto detector was used for reaction C181500100028 product identification. C181500100029 METHOD (EDE,TOF) E-dE method and time of flight was used C181500100030 for reaction product identification. Excitation C181500100031 function was measured by thick target inverse C181500100032 kinematics method. C181500100033 INC-SOURCE Beam of 13-O ions was produced via 14N(p,2n)13-O C181500100034 reaction. 14N ions accelerated in superconducting C181500100035 cyclotron to energy of 38 MeV/A bombarded cooled C181500100036 hydrogen gas target with pressure of 3 atm. After C181500100037 separation in mass separator MARS the resulting 13-O C181500100038 beam had energy of 31 MeV/A and intensity of 5.0E+3 C181500100039 ions/sec. There was 15% contamination of 10C in C181500100040 13-O beam. The energy of 13-O ions was degraded using C181500100041 polypropylene foils with total thickness of 1.5mm to C181500100042 approx. 10 MeV/A.
