The spectra were calibrated by varying the C208200100027 spectrograph field to move elastically scattered C208200100028 12C5+ particles across the detector. Data were also C208200100029 taken in 1 degree steps from theta(lab) = 5 to 10 C208200100030 degrees using a thinner target which consisted of 125 C208200100031 microg/cm2 of 58Ni evaporated onto a 30 microg/cm2 C208200100032 carbon backing.
