C211500100031 METHOD (COINC) Coincidence between recoiling nuclei and gamma C211500100032 rays was required. Recoiling nuclei were detected C211500100033 at laboratory angles 7 deg to 44 deg with respect C211500100034 to beam axis. Cross sections are given for events with C211500100035 detected recoiling nuclei. 8Be nucleus is unbound and C211500100036 two correlated alpha paricles were detected in C211500100037 coincidence with discrete gamma ray to identify the C211500100038 reaction channel. 10Be was identified in CsI array. C211500100039 ANALYSIS The experimental cross sections were determined from C211500100040 a gamma-ray intensity balance, i.e., the difference C211500100041 between the total intensity out of a state and the C211500100042 total intensity feeding that state, which included a C211500100043 kinematic correction to the solid angle.
