Pleasant, C214300100011 Michigan C214300100012 REFERENCE (J,PR/C,90,064615,2014) C214300100013 FACILITY (CYCTM,1USAMSU) Experiment performed at the coupled C214300100014 cyclotron facility at the National Superconducting C214300100015 Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL), Michigan State University.C214300100016 SAMPLE 9Be secondary target with thickness of 9 mg/cm2. C214300100017 DETECTOR (MAGSP) Reaction products were momentum analysed in C214300100018 S800 high-resolution magnetic spectrograph. Reaction C214300100019 residues were identified by detectors located in the C214300100020 spectrometer focal plane C214300100021 (IOCH,SCIN) Reaction residues were identified by an C214300100022 energy-loss measurement in an ionization chamber and C214300100023 time of flight measurement using one plastic C214300100024 scintillator before the target and one in the focal C214300100025 plane. C214300100026 METHOD (TOF) C214300100027 INC-SOURCE The 28Mg beam was produced by fragmentation of an C214300100028 40Ar primary beam with an energy of 140 MeV/A on a C214300100029 846 mg/cm2 9Be production target. The desired C214300100030 fragment with an energy of 93 MeV/u was selected with C214300100031 the A1900 fragment separator and impinged on a C214300100032 9mg/cm2 9Be secondary target at the target position C214300100033 of the S800 high-resolution magnetic C214300100034 spectrograph.Incoming beam particles were identified C214300100035 event by event by their time of flight between two C214300100036 plastic scintillators before the target. The average C214300100037 rate on target was 5E+5 28Mg/s. The largest C214300100038 contaminant, 29Al, amounted to only 1.5% of the total C214300100039 beam intensity.
