C214600100023 (SI) Away from the beam axis at 0deg, there were two C214600100024 arrays of large silicon detectors. These were YY1 C214600100025 wedge-shaped detectors with thickness of 500 mu-m. In the present case six detectors were formed C214600100029 into a lamp-shade-type configuration. The inclination C214600100030 of these detectors from the beam axis was 46deg. The C214600100031 detectors intercepted angles, measured with respect C214600100032 to the window, of 13.0 to 43.3deg and 5.0 to 13.5deg, C214600100033 respectively. C214600100034 METHOD (TTM) The technique of resonance scattering using a C214600100035 thick target, developed at the Kurchatov Institute, C214600100036 was used. It involves the passage of a beam through a C214600100037 thick target material. As the beam slows down, and C214600100038 the center-of-mass energy coincides with that of a C214600100039 resonance of the projectile-target composite system, C214600100040 a resonant component to the scattering process occurs. C214600100041 INC-SOURCE The measurements were performed using a previously C214600100042 prepared 10Be sample placed in the ion source. The C214600100043 beam purity was better than 99%, which was achieved C214600100044 through the use of a secondary stripper foil C214600100045 (80 mu-g/cm2 carbon) in advance of the HRIBF tandem C214600100046 analyzing magnet to fully strip both the 10Be beam C214600100047 and the 10B contaminant.
