The effective target thickness C217800100015 (the portion of the target where the beam energy went C217800100016 from the incident energy of 785 MeV to the reaction C217800100017 barrier energy 700.5MeV) was 3.113 mg/cm2. C217800100018 DETECTOR (HPGE) Prompt gamma rays were detected using HPGe C217800100019 detector array Gammasphere, which for this experiment C217800100020 consisted of 90 Compton suppressed HPGe detectors. C217800100021 METHOD (COINC,GSPEC) With the beam on and average beam C217800100022 current of 0.47 pnA., the spacing between the C217800100023 accelerator beam bursts was 824 ns. Triple gamma- C217800100024 ray coincidence events (g-g-g ) were recorded. After C217800100025 the irradiation was stopped, Gammasphere was switched C217800100026 to singles mode and the target was counted for 39 h. C217800100027 Then the target was removed from Gammasphere and gamma-C217800100028 ray spectroscopy of the target radioactivities was C217800100029 carried out using a well-calibrated Ge detector in the C217800100030 ATLAS hot chemistry laboratory. The total observation C217800100031 period was 5.3 days, during which time 15 measurements C217800100032 of target radioactivity were made. The end of C217800100033 bombardment (EOB) activities of the nuclides were used C217800100034 to calculate absolute production cross sections. The C217800100035 yields of ground state and isomeric states for a given C217800100036 nuclide were summed to give a total nuclidic cross C217800100037 section. C217800100038 ANALYSIS The analysis of the in-beam Gammasphere data was C217800100039 carried out by construction of two g-g-g histograms. C217800100040 One histogram was constructed using prompt gamma C217800100041 decays recorded during the beam burst (IB), and the C217800100042 other was constructed using delayed g decays recorded C217800100043 between the beam bursts (OB). All of the individual C217800100044 transition intensities from both the IB and OB C217800100045 histograms were summed to give the total gamma yields C217800100046 of each reaction product. Absolute cross sections were C217800100047 determined using equations for growth and decay, C217800100048 taking into account the beam intensities.
