C226500100021 (MWDC) Resistive wire based time projection chamber C226500100022 (TPC) allowed for 3D tracking of the light recoils C226500100023 and particle identification. Only light recoils C226500100024 reached the tracking region, while heavy recoils and C226500100025 90% of 9C beam ions were stopped before the active C226500100026 TPC region. C226500100027 METHOD (TTM) The Thick Target Inverse Kinematics method was C226500100028 applied to study resonances in 10N in the 9C+p C226500100029 resonance scat-tering. In the TTIK method, a beam of C226500100030 heavy ions is stopped in the target material, and the C226500100031 light recoil products of the elastic scattering C226500100032 reaction (protons in our case) come out of the C226500100033 interaction region due to the much smaller specific C226500100034 energy loss and are detected. C226500100035 INC-SOURCE The 9C beam was produced in the 10B(p,2n) reaction C226500100036 and separated from the primary beam and other C226500100037 reaction products using the mass separator MARS. A C226500100038 23.4+-0.4MeV/A beam of 9C with intensity of 1E+3pps C226500100039 was obtained using a primary beam of 10B at 31MeV/A C226500100040 with intensity of 200pnA. The 9C beam purity was C226500100041 about 40% with the main contaminant being 3He, which C226500100042 is also produced in the gas cell of the primary C226500100043 target. The energy of the beam was degraded down to C226500100044 9.3MeV/A using BC-404 scintillator of 1mm thickness C226500100045 placed upstream of the methane target C226500100046 ERR-ANALYS (ERR-S) Uncertainties dominated by statistical C226500100047 uncertainties C226500100048 HISTORY (20170917C) Compiled by S.H.
