SampleD010500100010 no.1 comprising thin TiN and Au layers on Si substrate D010500100011 was prepared by TiN deposition (reactive magnetron D010500100012 sputtering in Ar + N2 atmosphere) and subsequent vacuumD010500100013 evaporation of thin gold layer which serves as an D010500100014 internal standard. The former technique was employed D010500100015 also for the preparation of sample no.2 comprising TiN D010500100016 layer on Be backing. Both samples were thoroughly D010500100017 investigated by the standard RBS method using 2 MeV D010500100018 alpha particles to determine their composition and D010500100019 thickness. The measured relative areal densities D010500100020 of relevant elements irt sample no.1 were D010500100021 N:Ti:Au = (9.5 :to.5): (8.4 :to.5): 1 and in D010500100022 sample no.2 Ti:N = (0.98 :t 0.05): 1. The measured D010500100023 thickness of TiN layers (in TiNlcm-2)on sample no. 1 D010500100024 and no. 2 was 3.8 x 1017 and 6.0 x 1017, respectively. D010500100030 (ERR-2) Around the narrow nitrogen resonance at 1742keVD010500100031 an additional error appears due to the finite target D010500100032 thickness, proton beam energy inhomogeneity, the systemD010500100033 energy resolution.
