D019400100012 (J,NP/A,722,49,2003) D019400100013 FACILITY (CYCLO,4ZZZDUB)the U-400M cyclotron of FLNR D019400100014 (PRJFS,4ZZZDUB) The beam of 6He ions was purified from D019400100015 both the primary beam and the main part of other react.D019400100016 products by using the doubly achromatic separator D019400100017 ACCULINNA. D019400100018 INC-SOURCE Secondary 24.5A MeV beam of 6He nuclei D019400100019 was produced by the bombardment of a 185-mg/cm2 D019400100020 beryllium target with a 43A MeV 13C primary beam. D019400100021 METHOD (TOF) D019400100022 SAMPLE Two experimental runs with CH2 targets of thicknesses D019400100023 of 30.1 and 53.3 mg/cm2 were carried out. These thin D019400100024 and thick targets were used to detect protons in the D019400100025 laboratory angular range of 500-700 and 400-600, D019400100026 respectively. For elastic scattering, these ranges D019400100027 correspond to the proton energies of 8-28 MeV and D019400100028 17-40 MeV, respectively. To see background conditions, D019400100029 a 44-mg/cm2 carbon target was irradiated by the D019400100030 6He beam. D019400100031 DETECTOR (TELES,SISD,CSICR) The detector array included two D019400100032 position sensitive telescopes. The first telescope D019400100033 served as a master. It detected protons recoiled D019400100034 elastically or inelastically from the CH2 target. D019400100035 This telescope was mounted on an arm movable in the D019400100036 horizontal plane. The telescope consisted of two D019400100037 400-mu-m 60 x 60 mm2 silicon strip dE detectors and a D019400100038 20 mm thick 65 x 65 mm2 CsI(Tl) E detector. The D019400100039 overall energy resolution of the telescope was D019400100040 estimated to be about 2%. D019400100041 (TELES,SISD,SI) The RIKEN detector telescope was D019400100042 used to register elastically scattered 6He nuclei and D019400100043 alpha-particles originated from the decay of excited D019400100044 6He. It involved one double-side 250-mu-m silicon D019400100045 strip detector with both radial and annular strips D019400100046 (DSD), six single-side 750-mu-u silicon detectors D019400100047 with radial strips, and one single-side 750-mu-m D019400100048 silicon detector without strips. D019400100049 ERR-ANALYS (DATA-ERR1) The uncertainty of the measured absolute D019400100050 cross section values. D019400100051 (DATA-ERR2) Errors include the statistical spread in D019400100052 the number of measured events, errors due to the D019400100053 efficiency simulation and due to the carbon background D019400100054 subtraction.
