The reaction D064500100027 products are collimated and enter a solenoid that D064500100028 focuses the primary 7Li particles onto a "lollipop" D064500100029 where the 7Li particles are stopped. Because of the D064500100030 different magnetic rigidity, the secondary 6He and D064500100031 alpha particles do not hit the lollipop, but reach D064500100032 the secondary 120Sn target. Typical beam intensities D064500100033 are about 10**4 to 10**5 particles per second at the D064500100034 secondary target position. D064500100035 SAMPLE A 3.8 mg/cm**2 isotopically enriched (98.29%) 120Sn D064500100036 target and a 3.0 mg/cm**2 197Au target have been D064500100037 used as secondary targets.
