F084800100014 SAMPLE The targets were metallic self-supporting foils of F084800100015 100 mu-g/cm2 enriched up to 96.2% and 98.2% in 70Ge F084800100016 and 72Ge respectively, and 98.8% in 74Ge. F084800100017 METHOD (EDEG) A mylar foil of appropriate thickness was set F084800100018 before detectors to stop the protons. Particle F084800100019 identification was obtained from the energy loss in theF084800100020 detectors. F084800100021 (BCINT) F084800100022 MONITOR The relative normalization of the angular distributionsF084800100023 were derived from the counting of a Si(Li) monitor F084800100024 detector set at 106 degr. This monitor was protected F084800100025 from neutrons of the 12C(p,n) reaction on the Faraday F084800100026 cup by a 200 mm bar of brass. The absolute cross F084800100027 sections were obtained from comparison at 30 degrees F084800100028 between the experimental data and the calculated F084800100029 elastic cross section and were believed to be accurate F084800100030 within 15%.
