The target thickness was determined as follows.F098700100017 A piece of thick aluminium foil was placed alongside F098700100018 the gold backing during the evaporation of the MnF2 F098700100019 target, and the thickness of MnF2 deposited was F098700100020 determined by observing the apparent energy shift of F098700100021 the 773 keV 27Al(p,g)28Si resonance when the proton F098700100022 beam, obtained from the accelerator, passed through F098700100023 the MnF2 layer. The content of fluorine was calculated F098700100024 as 19.5+-2.5 mu-g/cm2.
