F104100100013 MONITOR (6-C-12(A,EL)6-C-12,,DA) Three methods were used to F104100100014 determine absolute cross sections. 1.The present data F104100100015 were related to be absolute cross section measurements F104100100016 by comparison of yield at alpha particle energies of F104100100017 4.0 and 6.6 MeV at angle of 71.55, 106.60 and 136.06 F104100100018 degr. which were common to both sets of data. 2.Gas F104100100019 target measurements using natural CO2 were carried out F104100100020 at alpha particle energies of 6.6, 7.4 and 8.4 MeV and F104100100021 angles of 60, 71.55 and 90 degr. employing a gas cell F104100100022 with thin nickel beam entrance and exit windows and a F104100100023 mylar window for the reaction products. The gas F104100100024 pressure (22 mm of mercury) and temperature were F104100100025 monitored continuously. Beam integration was achieved F104100100026 using a calibrated integrator, tested before and after F104100100027 the measurements and accurate to better than 1%. 3. TheF104100100028 proton energy equivalents of several of the carbon F104100100029 foils used in the 12C(a,a0) measurements were F104100100030 determined for incident energies between 300 keV and F104100100031 1.8 MeV, using the method of target modulation.) F104100100032 MONIT-REF (C1029002,C.M.Jones+,J,NP,37,1,1962) Reference related F104100100033 to the first method of monitoring.
