F107300100021 (SOLST) Scattered protons were deflected through a slipF107300100022 system located in the focal plane of the spectrometer F107300100023 and were detected with a large area solid state F107300100024 detector. F107300100025 SAMPLE Self-supporting carbon targets were prepared by F107300100026 cracking 13C (62%) enriched methyl iodide onto a thin F107300100027 nickel foil. The carbon film was then floated from its F107300100028 backing onto a water surface. The surface tension of F107300100029 the water was reduced by adding a small amount of F107300100030 detergent and the foils were lifted from the water ontoF107300100031 thin aluminum frames.
