During this experiment the E F108900100014 detector was either a 3000 mu-m thick lithium drifted F108900100015 detector or two 1000 mu-m thick surface-barrier F108900100016 detectors mounted mechanically in tandem and F108900100017 electrically in parallel. F108900100018 SAMPLE The target gas was contained in a gas cell 7.62 cm in F108900100019 diameter with a 240 degree continuous window made of F108900100020 3.3 mu-m thick Havar. The enriched 18O gas was providedF108900100021 in 100 ml bottles at 1 atm pressure. A typical mass F108900100022 spectrograph analysis of the targets gas found the F108900100023 following molecular constituents: 18O2 99.06%, 18O 17O F108900100024 0.35%, 18O 16O 0.59%. The gas pressure was monitored F108900100025 by a precision dial manometer observed by means of a F108900100026 closed-circuit television system.
